The Guy Clark Family Foundation was established in 2024 by Guy’s only grandchildren, Dylan and Ellie, to honor Guy’s memory and sustain his love and support for songwriters. By opening his home and heart to storytellers from all over the world, Guy nurtured a creative community that survives him.
The Guy Clark Family Foundation expands that community with creative and professional support. We offer songwriters the chance to grow as artists -- to write, collaborate, record, perform, and share their work with a global audience, as a living tribute to Guy.
Through financial grants, we help songwriters record, tour, and market and promote their work. We host workshops for young songwriters to learn from the masters. We produce events to give songwriters opportunities to perform in front of a live audience. We introduce songwriters to one another and provide a space to write and collaborate. Through our Truly Handmade Records, we offer songwriters a place to distribute recorded music.
Join our Founder’s Circle:
For a minimum donation of $250, you will be a member of the Guy Clark Family Foundation Founder’s Circle.
Founder’s Circle members receive a custom-designed lapel pin, inspired by “Caw Caw Blues,” the bronze crow sculpture created by Guy's dear friend, the artist Terry Allen, to hold Guy's ashes.
Founder’s Circle members will be listed on our website, receive first-look invitations to events, discounts on merchandise, and, most of all, know that they are patrons of the rich tradition of songwriting.
